From the bodycon-bandage dress master, comes this late 1990’s example by Hervé Legér… He started the bodycon-bandage dress look of the 1990’s, that would then go on to become the ‘IT’ dress for anyone with money to spend or someone to impress (ahem, Housewives franchise). His gowns are a bit rarer, but beautiful none-the-less. This example is a versatile eveningwear-to-cocktail look, in mainly black, but with a splash of red hot heat near the decolletage. The sleeves are slightly off-shoulder, with special sticky tape material sewn inside to help them stay put. The entire body of the dress is created by using varying width of elastic tape, wrapping around, and entirely hand-stitched in place -that’s right, the entire dress is ALL sewn by hand, down to the zipper!! (though, the edge of the tape pieces has been finished with an overlock stitch, by machine).
