SCROLL DOWN FOR FULL MEASUREMENTS: From SS 1999, here is an extremely rare masterpiece: a brown suede high neck top from HERMES by MARTIN MARGIELA. Perfect fusion of Martin Margiela’s balanced and thoughtful approach to clothing combined with Hermès know-how. It would be interesting to compare this piece to the 1997 Semi Couture designer bodice that Martin Margiela created for his own label. Just say. No sticky leather here, but a pure, light and soft second skin that leaves the imprint of your touch like on the softest velvet. (Poetic way of saying that the traces you see in the photos are only ephemeral and disappear if you caress the fabric in the other direction). The piece is zipped at the back with a Hermès-engraved zipped loop. The edges are raw. The piece has been worn. Please check the complete photos for signs of wear (which are very minor). The lining is in khaki silk. The latest photos show the garment inside out and it’s striking how great Margiela looks. The body if the lining is intentionally cut below the bust so that the two fabrics do not stick together or twist and let the suede fall freely. A little marvel.
