First released in 1985, the Pasha de Cartier was created by the Parisian manufacture in honour of the Pasha of Marrakesh, who was a lover of fine watchmaking and a lifelong customer of Louis Cartier in the early 20th century. The watch was one of the later creations from legendary watch designer Gerald Genta, who was enlisted by then CEO Alain-Dominique Perrin to make a luxury sports watch to compete with the Rolex Submariner, AP Royal Oak and Patek Philippe Nautilius. As the creator of two of those watches, Genta was the logical choice for Cartier’s entry into the space. The Pasha’s key identifying marks are its broad outer bezel, Vendome lugs and a unique screw-down crown guard that attaches to the side of the case via a small chain link. Although Cartier has made many iterations of the Pasha in its 30 years of production, it still remains true to Genta’s original design and offers collectors a interesting alternative to the usual luxury sports suspects. In good working condition Comes with original box ( box is slight worn due to age )
