BALENCIAGA LE DIX by Nicolas Ghesquière Spring / Summer 2002 Runway Collection: Catwalk Exit 7 Black Stonewashed Tencel Straight Leg Cargo Pants Size Label: Best for 36 FR / International Designer Small 100% Tencel with Corduroy Accents throughout MAJOR: THE BALENCIAGA LE DIX 2002 CARGO PANTS Ultimate hero piece for the discerning fashion collector. It’s near impossible to find Le Dix labeled cargo pants from this collection, as the original production was extremely limited in 2002. Balenciaga was acquired by Gucci Group (now Kering) immediately after this collectio, and the ready to wear label was changed from Balenciaga Le Dix to Balenciaga. These pants were so popular that there was a second production, but that occurred after the official name change occurred on their ready-to-wear. These are an especially rare pattern of the cargo pants that have a long strip of corduroy that hangs on the side of each leg. This can be tied around the neck like a halter top, wrapped around the waist as an additional belt, or left to hang at the sides and swing when in motion. Waist ~15.25 inches across the top. Rise ~9 inches. Inseam ~28 inches. Very good condition for the age. No major damage, stains, or holes. Light fading throughout that’s consistent with the age. (These were also produced with a worn-in look so it’s mostly by design). Missing the size and composition labels. Missing the internal button at the waistband.
