Alexander Mcqueen Spring/Summer 2003 “Irere” Collection Silver Embroidered Corset Bustier Waistcoat Vest size IT 40 or approximately a US size XS to Small. The fit is slim with little to no stretch – please see measurements below. This gorgeous vintage silk vest is done in silver and black and features intricate embroidery of skulls and flowers. The front closes with and hook and eye closures. Similar skull and flower motif seen in other pieces from the runway show. the Spring 2003 show, which was titled “Irere” meaning ‘transformation’ in one of the indigenous Amazonian languages. The show told the story of a girl’s metamorphosis from shipwreck survivor to Amazonian princess, a tale of redemption and survival. With this vest, McQueen was referencing the pirate aesthetic and the era of European exploration. Measurements: Fit: Slim.
